Mentors provide students with real-life professional connections that go beyond classroom experiences.  Our programs match exceptional students with extraordinary working professionals who dedicate time and expertise in helping students reach their potential. Together they troubleshoot issues, explore opportunities, and launch careers. Mentoring relationships are focused but flexible; many result in long-term professional connections shaped by trust and mutual respect.

B. U. M. P. – Business Undergraduate Mentoring Program

Provided by the Ulmer Career Center, B.U.M.P. is an application-based one-year program that gives students an opportunity to broaden their learning experience through several meetings with professionals in the business community.

Why should students participate?

This program gives you the unique opportunity to connect with an established professional in your field. Your mentor can help guide your career and life goals using their unique expertise. It’s a great way to expand your knowledge base and network.

What is the time commitment?

Mentors and mentees must commit to monthly meetings from September through April. The agenda for these meetings are unique to each mentor/mentee but might include topics such as mentee career goals, case studies, or even company (or relevant) meetings.

Who is eligible?
Undergraduate students with a declared College of Business major who have completed at least 60 credit hours and still have at least one year left until graduation.

How do students apply?
Students will receive an email inviting them to participate in the program in July. Once the application is completed, it is reviewed by the Ulmer Career Center and students will be contacted regarding the next steps. All mentee/mentor matches will be introduced via email in September.
