Dr. Carolyn M. Callahan, Brown Forman Endowed Chair; School of Accountancy Professor holds a Ph.D. degree with dual emphasis (accounting and finance) from Michigan State University, East Lansing. She is the former College of Business Dean and Vice-Provost (University of Louisville). She teaches financial and managerial accounting. Her research focuses on accounting information transmission and frictions in the capital and product markets. She has published in leading academic journals such as The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Contemporary Accounting Research and Accounting Horizons, among others. Her research has been presented before the U.S. Securities and Exchange (SEC) committees. In addition to research and teaching, Dr. Callahan has served as Vice President of the American Accounting Association, (AAA), Faculty Fellow at Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), and as a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board Advisory Council. She is founding academic member of the PhD Project, sponsored by KPMG. Dr. Callahan is currently the editor of Accounting Horizons, AAA journal.
