Ambassador Applications
The CAPS ambassadors are a motivated group of business undergraduate students representing the College of Business and supporting prospective and current students. To be selected as a CAPS ambassador is an honor and an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth. CAPS ambassadors possess strong interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and a sense of pride in the College and the University of Louisville.

What is CAPS?
CAPS is our taxonomy of student success: Connections, Analytics, Pride, Support

- Support – Support for goals related to academic, personal, and career success
Hours and Pay Rate
- Pay starts at $15/hour
- Weekly schedules are determined based on both student availability and program needs, with a maximum of 15 hours per week
- Shifts may include some evenings and weekends, and there are opportunities for occasional remote work
Time Commitment
The CAPS Ambassador program follows an academic calendar, covering both the fall and spring semesters. Student ambassadors maintain their roles throughout this timeframe, contingent upon satisfactory performance and continuous funding. Exceptions to the time commitment may arise in particular cases. Summer employment is optional, not mandatory.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Must be a business undergraduate major and classified as a rising sophomore, junior, or senior
- Have and maintain a 2.8 semester and cumulative grade point average as an undergraduate student.
- Completed two semesters in the College of Business by the start of the upcoming fall semester (some exceptions may apply)
- In good standing with the university and free of any disciplinary actions from the Dean of Students Office
- Display an enthusiastic, positive attitude with a good work ethic and willingness to perform assigned tasks
- Attend weekly/monthly meetings as required, including one full day of training at the start of each academic semester
- Possess a strong knowledge of the College and University
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and students from diverse backgrounds
- Able to work independently and in a team environment
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Possess basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
- Transportation of your own to local off-campus events
- Perform other duties as assigned
Duties and Responsibilities
Tours, Orientation, Academic Planning, and Workshops
- Represent the College or University at recruitment events, such as college fairs, open houses, and campus visits
- Serve as hosts/tour guides during special events on campus
- Meet and greet with prospective students, families, alumni, and special guests
- Give presentations about the College or University
- Provide general information to prospective students and their families
- Participate in student recruitment activities and special events
- Facilitate workshops focused on advising topics and student success
Community Building and Culture
- Create a welcoming and supportive environment
- Build community and create a sense of pride
- Support, plan, and host various events
Peer Mentoring and Student Engagement
- Promote the College of Business Cardinal Flight digital badging program
- Build and maintain positive relationships with prospective and current students
- Serve as a mentor to assigned students
- Provide outreach support to prospective and current students
- Collaborate with the supervisor/student services team on special projects
Social Media Ambassador Team (This role is only offered to a select group of ambassadors)
- Brainstorm ideas for social media content for multiple platforms, including Instagram and TikTok
- Produce and edit at least one (1) video per week
- Attend events to create promotional content
- Collaborate with the other members of the social media ambassador team and College of Business marketing staff
