CAPS Ambassadors are student leaders and undergraduate business majors dedicated to supporting the success of College of Business students. Through meaningful connections and a welcoming community, they guide prospective and current students and support various College events and initiatives. This program offers valuable opportunities for leadership development, professional growth, and hands-on experience.

Applications will not be considered without the completed form. You are responsible for sharing the link to the recommendation form, which can be found in the application, with the faculty/staff member. The recommendation form must be received within 5 days of the application deadline.

The graduation cap symbolizes our commitment to helping students achieve success and reach graduation. Through the CAPS Ambassador Program, our ambassadors help bring this vision to life by actively supporting and guiding students on their journey toward success.
Hours and Pay Rate
- $15/hour
- Minimum of 5 hours, maximum of 20 hours per week, based on availability and program needs
- Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and occasional remote work
Time Commitment
- The position follows the academic calendar (fall and spring semesters), with summer employment potentially available.
- Ambassadors must maintain weekly office hours.
- Employment for all semesters (fall, spring, and summer) is contingent on satisfactory performance and funding.
Duties and Responsibilities
Tours, Orientation, and Workshops
- Represent the College at recruitment events (college fairs, open houses, campus visits)
- Serve as hosts/tour guides during campus events
- Give presentations about the College or University
- Provide general information to prospective students and families
- Facilitate workshops on advising topics and student success
Community Building and Peer Mentoring
- Create a welcoming and supportive environment for students
- Build community and promote a sense of pride
- Mentor assigned students and maintain positive relationships
- Provide outreach support to prospective and current students
- Collaborate with the supervisor/student services team on special projects
Peer Mentoring and Student Engagement
- Promote the College of Business Cardinal Flight digital badging program
- Build and maintain positive relationships with prospective and current students
- Serve as a mentor to assigned students
- Provide outreach support to prospective and current students
- Collaborate with the supervisor/student services team on special projects
Cardinal Flight Digital Badge Program
- Be an advocate for the Cardinal Flight Digital Badge Program
- Hold and maintain your own Cardinal Flight digital badge
- Participate in Cardinal Flight events, tabling events, classroom presentations, etc.
Social Media Ambassador Team (This role is only offered to a select group of ambassadors)
- Brainstorm and create approved social media content and videos for designated platforms
- Produce and edit at least one video per week
- Attend events to capture content and promote College activities
- Work with the social media ambassador team and College of Business marketing staff
Requirements
- Must be a Business major, classified as a rising sophomore, junior, or senior
- Minimum 2.8 GPA
- Completed one semester in the College of Business
- In good standing with the university
- Must possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic
- Must demonstrate punctuality by arriving on time for all shifts, meetings, and events
- Exhibit and maintain strong academic habits, including excellent attendance, timely assignment completion, and positive behavior
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Reliable transportation for off-campus events
