The Exchange Dean’s Message November 2023

November 21, 2023
Dean Jeff Guan

Greetings to our esteemed business community and College of Business family.

I hope this message finds you well! As the semester is starting to come to an end I’m thrilled to share some noteworthy updates from the heart of our academic endeavors.

One of the core missions of the College of Business is to build a dynamic talent pipeline that not only meets the needs of our local economy but extends its impact far beyond. To achieve this, we are committed to designing and delivering academic programs that resonate with both student passions and the evolving demands of employers.

In our pursuit of excellence, we’ve adopted a winning strategy—co-designing and co-delivering academic programs that foster continuous innovation. Take, for example, our Franchise Program, Distilled Spirits Management Program, and the Master of Science in Business Analytics Program. These initiatives showcase our dedication to collaborative approaches that yield exceptional results.

Recognizing the vital role of the real estate industry in Louisville and the broader region, we’ve introduced the Real Estate Minor program. Crafted in consultation with several local real estate

companies, this program addresses the growing talent shortage in the field. A special shout-out goes to LDG, the largest national affordable housing company, for their generous contribution, which made the Real Estate Minor program possible.

But that’s not all—we’re proud to offer additional programs that exemplify our co-design and co-delivery philosophy. Our Franchise Certificates (available at both undergraduate and graduate levels) and the Distilled Spirits Graduate Certificate are shining examples of successful collaborations with the business community, driving academic innovation forward.

As we continue on this journey of academic excellence and industry partnership, I invite each of you to celebrate these achievements with us. Together, we are shaping the future of business education and contributing to the success of our students and the community we serve.
