July 1 – August 31, 2024 – Applications will be accepted only from staff who have not previously applied for funds.
September 1 – May 23, 2025 – All staff may apply for funds.
Travel completion deadline is Friday, May 23, 2025.
Non-travel related expenditures paid by procard: Monday, June 9, 2025.

The College of Business is committed to investing in the Professional Growth and Development of our staff. Here is a list of Professional Development Recommendations to assist you if you are uncertain where to start. This opportunity encompasses a wide range of initiatives designed to foster your professional aspirations.
Funds are not available to pay tuition for course academic credit, books for an academic credit course, trips that are a component of an academic degree program, etc. Each staff member is eligible up to $500 or used 1 time per 3 month period (see schedule below).
Note: Staff member may apply 1 time per *3-month period with total
monies requested equal to/less than $500.

***Applications will be accepted after the deadline, depending on available funds. Please spell out the complete conference, seminar, or training title, including acronyms. Also, please include a link to the conference website and attach a hard copy of the conference information, i.e., registration, dates, etc. If this information is unavailable when applying for the conference, include a link and/or hard copy of the conference information from the previous year.
Please estimate all expenses as closely as possible. If costs exceed the $500 for which a staff member is eligible, they must email their supervisor to confirm additional funds are available to cover the additional costs.
Note: Staff members can apply for staff development funds during the Provisional Period (first six months of employment in the College of Business).
The Staff Development Committee recommends COB staff participate in local and virtual/online classes, workshops, training, seminars, or other offerings provided by COB Executive Education.
Development funds should be used for opportunities to learn and grow your skill sets. Classes/workshops that address physical and emotional stress are encouraged. Your well-being is important to the College of Business.
