Daniel C. Ulmer

Bio

Daniel C. Ulmer was part of the leadership group that brought AAA baseball back
to Louisville in 1982. Today, he is chairman of the Louisville Bats. He is a co-owner
of several other businesses, including MPC Promotions and Demptos Glass Co.
Following service in the U.S. Navy, Ulmer joined Citizens Fidelity Bank (now PNC
Bank) in 1957 and became its president and chairman in 1976. He retired from the
bank in 1993 and is a member of the Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana Business
Hall of Fame, Ulmer is a senior member of the University’s Board of Overseers and
previously served as chairman of UofL’s Board of Trustees. He also has served on
the UofL Foundation Board. Ulmer Stadium, home of the UofL women’s softball
team, is named in honor of Ulmer and his family. Ulmer and his late wife Helen also
provided the lead contribution to the new Ulmer Career Management Center at
the College of Business. In 1987 he received the College of Business Distinguished
Alumnus Award. He is a 1955 graduate of the College of Business.
