In 2017, HJI Supply Chain Solutions, formerly Houston-Johnson
Inc., named Condrad Daniels as President after serving as the Chief Operating
Officer. HJI offers logistics, warehousing and material support services. It’s a
family-owned business started by Alice Houston and her husband, Wade Houston,
in 1994. The promotion of Daniels, the Houstons’ son-in-law, is part of a succession
planning process that’s long been in the works. He’s been with the company since
2000 in a variety of roles. Right after leaving Georgia Tech with an industrial
engineering degree, he started working as an engineer for HJI, getting involved in a
lot of the company’s operational processes. He even designed the company’s current
building, located on Complete Court in East Louisville. “I’ve always wanted an
opportunity to be able to lead an organization,” Daniels said. With that in mind, he
went back to school at the University of Louisville for an MBA. Condrad is the 2017
FBLA Winner and a member of the College’s Family Business Center.
