The Transformative Power of the Online MBA

This month’s Student Spotlight features Online MBA student, Jeff Byrne III. On top of his coursework, Jeff is keeping busy as President of his Online MBA cohort, serving with the Army National Guard, working at GE Appliances, a Haier company, and spending time with his family. He shares more about the experiences he has gained as a result of the UofL Online MBA program and tips on making the most of your time as a graduate business student at UofL.
 
“The Online MBA program at UofL has been a transformative experience for me. It not only facilitated a significant career shift but also placed me on a fast track for long-term professional growth.

My current role at GE Appliances in Inside Sales for the Air and Water Channel, combined with my ongoing service as a Human Resources Officer in the Army National Guard, has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally. Having started my career in accounting at Cerity Partners, and transitioning into sales and operations through Enterprise Mobility, the skills and knowledge gained from the Online MBA have been instrumental in my journey.

The program has empowered me to understand the critical role of analytics in today’s data-driven business landscape, and has equipped me with the ability to dissect and interpret complex information—an essential skill for any leader.

For new students, I strongly recommend diving in and engaging with your cohort. The relationships I’ve built with leaders across various fields have been invaluable.

As President of our cohort, I am committed to ensuring that UofL’s Online MBA program continues to excel, aiming for it to be recognized as a top 5 program nationwide.
