At the College of Business, we are constantly evolving to meet the challenges and opportunities of today’s business landscape. This month, several key initiatives and achievements highlight our commitment to innovation, connection, and preparing future business leaders.

Our Entrepreneurship PhD program continues to produce top-tier scholars, with graduates securing faculty positions at prestigious institutions. Their research, recognized in leading journals and by esteemed organizations, reflects the strength of our program and its impact on entrepreneurship education.

At the recent AACSB Deans Conference, one topic dominated the conversation—the future of business education. Employers are increasingly seeking AI-savvy talent, and our college is answering that call. We are launching an AI Minor this fall, offering courses in AI in the Marketplace, Prompt Engineering, AI Agent Development, and AI Ethics, among others. This initiative is a strategic investment in our students’ future, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to thrive in an AI-driven world.

We also continue to strengthen our ties to the Louisville business community. At Greater Louisville Inc.’s annual meeting, a new five-year strategic plan, Prosper 2030, was unveiled. Key goals of Prosper 30 include creation of 6,000 new jobs, a more competitive tax code, expansion of workforce. College of Business economist Dr. Tom Lambert estimates the new strategic plan could have a $6.8 billion economic impact. Our alum and Executive-in-Residence, former GLI CEO Kent Oyler, and COB alum Camilla Schroeder, now Chair of the GLI Board of Directors, demonstrate how our graduates and faculty play pivotal roles in shaping the region’s economy.

Through all these efforts—advancing research, embracing AI, and connecting with business leaders—we reinforce our mission to prepare students for the future. Whether through doctoral research, graduate programs, or new AI-driven curricula, we are committed to ensuring our students remain at the forefront of an ever-changing business landscape.

Thank you for your continued support in driving this mission forward.

Go Cards!
