TEST Friends of the College of Business 3333344

April 25, 2025 Marc Broering

Earlier this month, the University of Louisville announced the appointment of Dr. Amy Henley as the next dean of the College of Business. I want to offer my sincere congratulations and warmest welcome to Dr. Henley. She brings with her a wealth of experience, vision and energy and I look forward to working closely with her during this transition to ensure a strong and seamless start to her tenure.

Serving as interim dean over the past two and a half years has been an extraordinary honor. I’m deeply grateful for the trust and support you have shown me throughout this time. Together, we have launched new academic programs, built meaningful community and industry partnerships and positioned the college as a hub for innovation—especially in the space of business applications of artificial intelligence (AI). It’s been a privilege to help advance our mission, and I remain committed as ever to the continued growth and success of this college, its people and its purpose.

This is a season of change, not just for leadership, but for our students as well. Graduation is only weeks away, and with it, hundreds of our graduates will head into the world to shape businesses, communities and industries. Our students’ drive, resilience and ambition continue to inspire me. Just this month, we celebrated a marketing major winning the statewide Microsoft Excel competition with a perfect score—earning a spot at nationals. We’ve also seen major enrollment demand for our new undergraduate AI courses, with entire sections filling up before registration even opened to all students.

All of these great things are happening within our college as Louisville prepares for its most iconic tradition—the Kentucky Derby. For those of us just down the road from Churchill Downs, the excitement of the season serves as a powerful reminder of our city’s energy, creativity and forward momentum. These same qualities are reflected every day in the work we do. Whether it’s students winning national competitions, faculty leading global AI workshops or alumni transforming industries, the race to innovate is always on—and we are leading from the front.

Thank you for being part of this community. Let’s keep building. Let’s keep leading.

Go Cards!
