W. Earl Reed, III is the founder and former Chairman and CEO of Springstone, Inc., a developer and operator of hospitals specializing in mental illness and addiction treatment. He is a founding partner and CEO of The Allegro Group, which provides healthcare financial and operating advisory services. He served as Chairman CEO of LifeCare Management Services, LLC, and Chairman CEO of Rehab Designs of America. He was CFO and board member of Vencor, Inc. (now Kindred Healthcare, Inc.) from 1987 to 1998. Prior to Vencor, Reed was a member of the Humana Inc. financial operating team. A CPA, he has advised public and private companies in management team design, financial restructuring, strategic planning, capital formation and design, and financial systems. In 1991, he received the College of Business Distinguished Alumnus Award. In 2016 he was inducted into the Entrepreneurship Circle of Fame of the UofL College of Business. He is a 1973 graduate of the College of Business and member of the Entrepreneurship Council.
