James Cockrum

Bio

James D. Cockrum graduated from Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana. He then practiced in the Labor and Employment Law Practice Group of one of Kentucky’s premier law firm’s (Brown Todd & Heyburn LLC) and its successor firm (Frost Brown Todd LLC) until his retirement in 2021.

During his career, Jim advised and partnered with businesses of all types to foster regulatory compliance and liability avoidance and represented businesses before state and federal courts and regulatory agencies when facing all forms of employment-related claims and investigations. Jim was repeatedly selected by peers, clients, and industry observers as one of the best labor and employment attorneys in Kentucky, and now offers his career experiences to University of Louisville students enrolled in the College of Business and School of Accountancy.
