Bio

Hilda Carrillo is an Assistant Professor in the School of Accountancy at the University of Louisville. Hilda earned a PhD from the University of South Florida, an MBA from the University of Dayton, and a BS in Accounting from Louisiana State University – Shreveport. She also holds an active CPA license.

Prior to entering academia, she worked in public accounting, helping both public and private industry clients. She also worked as a corporate accountant for a Fortune 500 company. Hilda’s general research interests include topics in auditing, financial reporting, and accounting information systems. Specifically, her research examines issues of cognition, behavior, and affect, including how disclosure attributes can influence judgments and decision-making among audit stakeholders (e.g., investors, auditors, management, and corporate governance boards).
