Academic Standing
Students in Academic Good Standing
- 2.5 cumulative grade point average is required for students admitted to the University PRIOR TO SUMMER 2008 who maintain continuous enrollment.
- 2.8 cumulative grade point average is required for students admitted to the University SUMMER 2008 and after who maintain continuous enrollment.
Students on Academic Warning
Warning is a one time academic status for any student whose grade point average falls below the “good standing” grade point standards listed above.
Note: Students admitted to the College of Business “conditionally” have used their one time Warning academic status by being admitted on “conditional standing” (rather than being admitted in good standing). Students admitted conditionally must earn the cumulative grade point average for good standing (listed above in the “Academic Good Standing” section) in their first semester at the University, or they will be placed in Probation status.
Academic Probation
- Probation for students in the 2.5 good standing cohort – requires that students earn at least a 2.70 semester grade point average every semester until the cumulative University grade point average is at least 2.5. If in any semester (this includes summer course enrollment) while on probation students do not earn a 2.70 semester grade point average, or restore their cumulative grade point average to 2.5, they will be suspended from the College of Business.
- Probation for students in the 2.8 good standing cohort – requires that students earn at least a 3.0 semester grade point average every semester until their cumulative university grade point average is at least 2.8. If in any semester (this includes summer course enrollment) while on probation students do not earn a 3.0 semester grade point average, or restore their cumulative grade point average to 2.8, they will be suspended from the College of Business.
