Amy Henley 20 Favorite Things

Whether she’s watching college football, adding to her travel bucket list or spending time with her family, Dean Amy Henley radiates energy and enthusiasm wherever she goes. We sat down with her to get the ~sweet~ tea on all her favorite things to help you get to know the new College of Business dean a little better.

1. What emoji would you best say represents you? The smiley face with the tongue sticking out
2. What’s your favorite color? Red and Black of course
3. What’s your favorite book, and why? The Great Gatsby
4. What’s your favorite movie or TV show? Steel Magnolias
5. What’s your favorite music genre and why?  That’s hard because I have such a wide variety of music on my phone from 50s music, to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, to Eric Church.  If I have to pick one, it would be country.
6. What’s a hidden talent or hobby you have that people would be surprised to learn? I don’t cook often, but I cook a great Thanksgiving dinner (my dressing is especially good)
7. What food could you eat every day and never get tired of? Chocolate ice cream
8. What’s your guilty pleasure TV show and snack? Anything on Bravo, especially Southern Charm, and a chocolate milkshake
9. Do you have any pets and if so, what are they like?  We have a cat named Nugget who my son and husband wanted to get and he’s very clingy and smothering.  We also have the sweetest Goldendoodle named Maggie.
10. What’s the one place you most want to travel to that you’ve not yet seen? Australia, I would love to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef
11. What are your top three bucket list items? Spend Christmas in New York City and see Hamilton on Broadway, travel through Italy, and go to the Rose Bowl
12. If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have five items, what would they be? Diet Coke, a good pillow and blanket, my phone, favorite pajamas, a stuffed Ewok that my son gave me when he was little
13. What’s one thing that makes you feel nostalgic? College football
14. What was the first job you ever had? Working as a sales associate at The Limited (mainly for the discount)
15. Are you a morning person or a night owl? Definitely a night owl
16. Do you prefer coffee or tea, and how do you take it? Iced sweet tea
17. What’s one thing you can’t live without during the work week? My phone
18. What’s the most important item in your office, and why? A picture of Georgia winning the national championship in 2021, a game my husband and I were at and he had waited 40 years for
19. What app do you use the most on your phone? The professional answer would be the email app, the personal answer is TMZ
20. What’s one thing students would be surprised to learn about you? That I love college football so much that I named my son after my favorite player
