Dear College of Business Community,

October was a wonderful reminder of just how connected the College of Business is to our university, our alumni and the Louisville business community. It was a busy month filled with opportunities to celebrate our Cardinal family, strengthen relationships and explore new ideas for the future.

One of the highlights for me was joining business, community and university leaders for One Louisville's Greater Louisville Idea Development Expedition (GLIDE) to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. It was an incredibly full few days, with a packed schedule of conversations, visits and opportunities to learn from a region that has experienced remarkable growth.

Raleigh-Durham has become a national example of how higher education, research, innovation and business can work together to drive economic development. We explored how the region has attracted talent, supported population growth and leveraged its universities to create new opportunities.

Just as valuable as what we learned in Raleigh-Durham were the conversations I had with fellow Louisville leaders throughout the trip. We discussed the opportunities ahead for our own city and how we can work together to build on Louisville's strengths. Those conversations reinforced something I believe deeply: The College of Business has an important role to play in shaping the future of our region. Through education, research and partnerships, we are preparing the talent and developing the ideas that will help Louisville continue to grow and thrive.

Closer to home, October also brought wonderful opportunities to celebrate the people who make our university so special. Homecoming was a chance to reconnect with our Cardinal community, and our Alumni Awards celebration reminded us of the extraordinary things our graduates are accomplishing. It is always inspiring to see how our alumni are making an impact in their professions and communities, and I am proud of the role our college has played in their journeys.

I also enjoyed opportunities to connect with our corporate partners, including a lunch with Texas Roadhouse executives and President Bradley, as well as the chance to share a special video message with our graduates in Germany. We even found time for a little Halloween fun here at the college!

As we move into November, I am grateful for the relationships that make this college such a special place. Whether we are celebrating our alumni, connecting with business leaders or preparing the next generation of professionals, our work extends well beyond the classroom.

Thank you for all you do to make the College of Business a place where ideas, opportunities and people come together.

Go Cards!
Amy
