Economics Professor Featured on Wallethub

Expert insights from Associate Professor Joshua Pinkston, PhD, were featured in a WalletHub piece, which discussed states that need the most financial help due to COVID-19. The College of Business professor was among a panel of ten experts from across the nation to offer insights on this study.

The article, available on the WalletHub website, ranked states across 18 unique metrics. These factors include state/local debt per capita, health infrastructure, preparedness for unemployment insurance claims, and populations most vulnerable to COVID-19.

“The state and local governments that have been most prone to rely on unrealistically optimistic views of the future when spending money are especially likely to encounter problems in the coming years,” said Dr. Pinkston.
