Cardinal Flight Approved Event Guidelines

Before You Begin

All events should align with at least one career readiness competency.

Please reach out in advance: Contact cardinalflight@louisville.edu before planning your event to ensure it is considered Cardinal Flight approved.

Once your event is approved, you can proceed with the steps below.

Do not add the digital stamp to marketing materials or complete other steps until approval is confirmed.

Promotion & Digital Stamp

  • Use the Cardinal Flight Approved digital stamp on all marketing materials (e.g., flyers, digital posts, emails) only after approval is granted.
  • Include the statement: “This event is Cardinal Flight approved.” in the event description and on all marketing materials.
  • Post events on EngageUofL or another approved platform.

Posting Events in EngageUofL (For Faculty, Staff, & Registered Student Organizations – RSOs)

Note: RSOs must post all events and meetings in EngageUofL.

Steps to ensure students receive attendance credit:

  1. Event Description: Include the statement “This event is Cardinal Flight approved.”
  2. Theme: Select the appropriate theme for your event from the drop-down menu.
  3. Additional Organizations / Co-hosting: Select Cardinal Flight as a co-hosting organization.
  4. Event Visibility: Check the box “Allow attendance at this event to be shown on the Co-Curricular Transcript.”
  5. Event Category: Choose the correct category:
    • Cardinal Flight: College of Business Department Sponsored – for faculty/staff events
    • Cardinal Flight: College of Business RSO Sponsored – for student organization events
  6. Perks (for attendees): Indicate if your event provides “free food” or “free stuff.”

Attendance & Reporting

  • If using EngageUofL:
    • After the event, track and submit attendance in EngageUofL so participants receive attendance credit.
  • If not using EngageUofL (faculty/staff events only):
