Meet MSBA Alumni, CJ Skinner

Before enrolling into the University of Louisville’s MSBA program, CJ Skinner earned his undergraduate degree in economics and business administration from Bellarmine University. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, he now lives in Cincinnati, Ohio where he works as a data scientist at FIS (formally known as Worldpay).

CJ explains, “The MSBA program at UofL has prepared me for a career in data science by teaching me the fundamentals of Statistics and exposing me to a variety of analytics tools and programming languages. As a data scientist at FIS, I work on projects that optimize the cost of pin debit transactions for various merchants. Using tools such as R and SQL, and applying techniques in modeling and data management, my team and I are able to effectively adjust our forecasts of transactions and sales volumes for our merchants, which became very important during the COVID-19 pandemic. There are many data science applications in the payments industry, and I look forward to continuing to apply the skills that I have learned in the MSBA program in my career.”
