AI Council
Mission
The mission of the AI Council is to serve as a forum for exchange and discussion of ideas about AI adoption, AI innovation, and AI integration into the College of Business curricula.
About the AI Council
The AI Council is a group of up to 20 regional business professionals, college students, and staff and faculty from the College of Business that are passionate about AI. The council focuses on identifying practical applications for AI within the college, university and industry, and helping to define the strategy, skill sets, tools, and pedagogies needed to successfully implement those applications.
Benefits of board participation include:
- Being on the forefront of new AI ideas and research
- Peer networking and idea sharing with executives from the college and other organizations
- Interaction with UofL students, faculty and staff
- Access to the UofL AI talent pipeline and thought leadership
- Privileged input into the college’s AI related curriculum and research
Participation
- Provide input to faculty and staff regarding the AI curriculum to assure industry relevance
- Identify research opportunities that could advance AI knowledge
- Participate in research and case studies
- Expand the college’s network and AI related visibility on campus and in the community
- Provide internship, shadowing, and hiring opportunities for students working in the AI field
- Actively identify ways to increase scholarships and opportunities for students
Meetings
- Quarterly meetings (two in-person and two virtual); other ad-hoc meetings likely
- Review materials prior to meeting and be prepared to actively participate in discussions
- 2-year term; may be reappointed for additional terms
- Ad-hoc input welcome
