Accounting Picnic Policies
The Accounting Picnic is open to University of Louisville, College of Business accounting students and alumni. This includes Bachelor’s, Certificate and Master’s accounting programs who are seeking full-time positions and/or an internship/co-op.

Guidelines
The Ulmer Career Center will review company registrations for appropriateness of opportunities for College of Business students and alumni. The Ulmer Career Center reserves the right to deny registration to companies.
Network marketing companies are not eligible to participate in events, career fairs, on-campus interviewing, resume referrals, employer presentations, or sponsorships for on-campus activities.
A network marketing company is defined as one that engages in the following practices:
- Sponsors individuals to set up their own businesses for the purpose of selling products or services and recruiting other individuals to set up their own businesses;
- Requires an initial investment (payment of a fixed fee, payment to attend an orientation or training session, or purchase a starter kit) from an individual, with the organization itself serving as an umbrella or parent corporation;
- Offers compensation in the form of straight commission on the individual’s own sales revenue, as well as on the sales revenue of the sales force recruited by the individual and his or her recruits (also known as downline).

DIRECTIONS FROM I-65 SOUTH & PARKING INSTRUCTIONS
From I-65 South, take exit 134/Arthur Street. At the 4-way stop, turn right onto East Brandeis Ave. East Brandeis Ave turns into East Cardinal Blvd at the South Brook Street intersection. Turn left onto South 1st Street. Turn left onto East Brandeis Ave. Take an immediate right into the first drive lane, entering the Miller Hall Parking Lot. The pay machine is located at the
corner of the Miller Hall residence building. Input your license plate number, parking spot number, along with the code “0827” in the meter to waive the parking fee. Please do NOT park in identified/reserved spots for UofL Staff. You will get ticketed.

The Ulmer Career Center advertises the Accounting Picnic through window banners and signs, flyers handed out in accounting classes, e-mail blasts, announcements made at student club meetings, TV’s throughout the College of Business, announcements on Cardinal Careers (Symplicity), the College of Business website, and marketing on the Ulmer Career Center social media sites including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. - Does the Ulmer Career Management Center offer an event for other majors?
Yes, the Ulmer Career Center offers the College of Business Career Fair in the fall and spring semesters. The Fall 2019 College of Business Career Fair will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019. Please contact the Ulmer Career Center for additional details and registration information. - Will students be distributing resumes at the Accounting Picnic?
No. Instead of students passing out their resumes, employers will have access to an Accounting Picnic Student Resume Book. This is a new networking event, focused on encouraging more conversation, building relationships, making connections, with less marketing material and handouts - Will firms and corporations have their own tables or booths?
No. There are no assigned individual tables or booths at the Accounting Picnic. This is NOT an event for marketing material, displays, or company banner stands, but instead, participants will enjoy a free-style, business casual networking event. Business cards are welcome and a great item to bring! - Is the Accounting Picnic more or less formal than the previous Accounting Social?
Yes! Since this event is on campus, students may be coming to and from class or other events on campus. Business casual attire is suggested.
