While women make up only 34% of MSBA students, the number of women entering data science is on the rise. In honor of Women’s History Month, join the College of Business MSBA program and our guests in this discussion of the ever-growing role women are playing in the Data Science field as they move from inclusion to impact.

Emily Dutrow, Financial Planning and Analysis, Humana
Emily Dutrow joined Humana as a finance analysis intern in the Care Delivery Organization in August of 2020. In March 2021 she transitioned to a full-time financial planning and analysis professional on the same team, supporting the Kansas and Carolinas markets. A graduate from UofL with bachelor degrees in math and psychology, Emily is the 2020 MSBA cohort president.
Emily Gentry, Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, Humana
Emily Gentry is a member of the Human Capital Analytics team at Humana. She has been an analyst and curator of fine data products for over seven years, and her experience spans multiple industries, including commodities and retail. Emily has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Bellarmine University and is also currently President of the Younger Woman’s Club of Louisville.
Brittany Green, Assistant Professor of Information Systems, Analytics & Operations, UofL
Brittany Green has a PhD in business analytics from the University of Cincinnati and a background in industrial engineering and computer science. Brittany’s research focuses on developing new analytics approaches and applying cutting-edge AI to business and health applications. She teaches data analytics II in the UofL MSBA program.
Kendall Ruber, Senior Data Analyst,
Yum! Brands
Kendall Ruber has held various data analytics positions in the fields of finance, business operations, cybersecurity, and human resources, including her current role as a senior data analyst for Yum! Brands. Kendall is a 2020 graduate of the MSBA program and served as her cohort’s president. She remains involved with UofL in teaching Intro to Statistics and Data Analysis for the University’s Online MBA program.
Mia Simms, Front Desk Manager, Kentucky Derby Museum
Mia Simms holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Louisville, and is a student in the MSBA program — serving as the Spring 2021 cohort president. She aspires to be a business analyst.
Praveena Vutchula, Data Analyst, El Toro
Praveena Vutchula is an MSBA 2020 alumni, currently working as data analyst at El Toro – IP Targeting in Louisville since 2019. She worked as a software engineer for five years before she shifted towards data science. She believes “Data is the new oil,” and data science is about “asking the right questions.” She is passionate about making impactful conclusions from data for all kinds of audiences.
