A partnership between the Kentucky Veterans Program Trust Fund and the University of Louisville College of Business.
VETERANS
The Kentucky Veterans Program Trust Fund has made available 10 Kentucky veteran business startup grants in 2012. These are available for Veterans who are Kentucky Residents and are planning on starting a business in Kentucky.
WEEKS
The grant will cover 10 weeks of entrepreneurship/business start up training once a week from 6-9pm in Louisville, KY.
Two Sessions are offered in 2012.
Session 1 (Tuesday February 21st 6-9pm Louisville, KY).
Session 2 (September 2012 6-9pm Mondays in Louisville).
YEAR
An assigned business coach/mentor for 1 year with required meetings twice a month in Louisville, KY.
DOLLARS
Reimbursement of approved new business start up expenses of up to $2500.
Preference will be given to Vet's who have a business plan (or at least an outline of a plan) specifically in the medical and/or technology fields.
Vet's from any branch of the service may apply.
Business must be started in Kentucky and the Vet must be a Kentucky resident.
The following items are required.
- Attach a copy of your DD Form 214 (proof of veteran status)
- Annotate dates and locations of duty in Hazardous Duty Zone
- List previous education and specific business courses completed (attach unofficial transcripts if available)
- Attach 3 Letters of recommendation (personal, professional, academic/other)
- Attach Provide personal statement (your vision for business)
- Submit resume
- business plan (even if it is draft outline)
