Two members of our UofL Equestrian Hunt Seat Team, Jamie Humphries and Megan Riddle, competed Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zones Competition at Lake Erie College. Megan finished 4th and Jamie won her class which qualified her for the IHSA Nationals May 1-4.

Jamie Humphries, current vice president of the UofL Hunt Seat Team, qualified for Regionals after the first horse show of the year hosted by University of Louisville, October 19, 2013. She qualified in the Walk Trot Canter Division after winning her class. Jamie is a sophomore majoring in Equine Business with an Entrepreneurship minor. She has been on the Dean’s List each semester.

Our Equine Hunt Seat Team practices at Stone Place Stables in Prospect, KY and is coached by an Equine Industry Program graduate, Sarah Younger.  She will accompany Jamie, to the ISHA Nationals at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This is Sarah’s first trip to Nationals with one of our Hunt Seat Team riders.

Besides the Hunt Seat team, The UofL Riding and Racing Club also includes the Racing Club, the Western Team, and the Saddle Seat Team.

The Saddle Seat Team are the 2013 National Champions and will defend their title on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Alltech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. They are coached by Deveau Zubrod and ride at Zubrod Stables in Prospect, KY.
