Black MBA magazine highlights Professor Nat Irvin and the coming of the ‘Thrivals’

     One of the newest additions to the U of L  College of Business faculty—Nat Irvin, II—has been spotlighted in the cover story in the Fall 2007 issue of Black MBA magazine, the official publication of the National Black MBA Association (www.nbmbaa.org).

     A feature entitled “Come Play in My Sandbox” describes Irvin’s groundbreaking work identifying a new breed of forward-thinking, multilingual, globally tuned African Americans he calls “thrivals.”

     Irvin is the founder and president of Future Focus 2020, a futurist think tank, and is the new Strickler Executive in Residence and Professor of Management at the College of Business.  He joined U of L this summer from the Babcock School of Management at Wake Forest University, where he is remains a visiting executive professor.

     The magazine details Irvin’s how Irvin’s interests and research have created new paradigms for the future of African Americans in business.

     According to the story, “With no limits and no fear, the new breed of thrivals just might save the world. Luckily, they come in peace, and even more luckily, they’re ready to do business—with you if at all possible, and against you if absolutely necessary.”
