The Ballard Morton New Venture Competition

Created in 1997, our New Venture Competition is one of the reasons UofL's graduate program in entrepreneurship is ranked among the top 25 in the U.S. by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur Magazine.

Generously funded in part by T. Ballard Morton, with additional support from members of the College of Business Entrepreneurship Council, the annual competition presents exciting new business concepts currently in development by teams of graduate students vying for academic honors and start-up capital.

Competition phases include Trade Show, Fast Pitch and Business Plan Presentation, with more than $36,000 in prize money at stake, along with the opportunity to move on to regional and national competitions, including the college’s Brown-Forman Cardinal Challenge and the Global Moot Corp Competition.
