Business Minors
The College of Business offers a minor in business for students in other colleges and schools at the University of Louisville. Enrollment is limited in the business minor because of the large demand for courses by business majors. Please see the Minor in Business Administration page for details.
With the fusion of business processes, organizational structure, and information technology, every business professional who expects to be successful should complement strong business knowledge with information technology (IT) competency. Employers increasingly expect business professionals-including executives-to be equipped with the IT skills necessary to conceive, initiate, lead and troubleshoot projects. This competency in IT allows them to leverage knowledge and skills they acquire in their business majors in order to become effective managers in today's world. It provides College of Business students with the technical skills they need to expand career opportunities, negotiate higher starting salaries and ultimately advance more rapidly in their careers. The entrepreneurship minor provides value-added skills that set you apart from & make you more valuable to employers than other COB graduates. The minor develops your ability to search for, discover and exploit marketable ideas in a corporate environment or an independent new venture. The objective of the Finance minor program is to provide College of Business students with majors in other business areas (accounting, computer information systems, equine business, management, and marketing) with a competitive edge in their professional careers. Our minors are prepared not only in their major areas but also have the ability to understand and apply financial concepts and skills in their careers in all business areas. The College of Business offers a minor in International Business available to College of Business students only. If academically planned, the International Business minor course requirements can be incorporated within the undergraduate degree program requirements. With a minor in management, you will develop a greater appreciation for this broad area of business and build an additional skill set that has universal value.
