The University of Louisville Equestrian Team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). We compete in Zone 6, Region 3. The schools in our area are -  Marshall University, Midway College, Morehead State University, Northern Kentucky University, University of Cincinnati, University of Kentucky, University of Louisville, and Xavier University. 
  
Our team is co-ed. We compete in hunter equitation on the flat and over fences in three divisions and in stock seat where riders compete in western pleasure and reining.

Students must be enrolled at the University of Louisville in Good Standing and Full Time status to compete in the Intercollegiate horse shows. Membership in the Riding & Racing Club, IHSA, USHJA (collegiate membership), and taking lessons are also mandatory to compete.

There is also a Saddle Seat team, which became a member of the Intercollegiate Saddle Seat Riding Association (ISSRA) in Spring Semester 2010, and competes in equitation railwork and pattern classes. This team took Reserve High Point Team at its first competition in Spring 2010.

NEWS UPDATE:

◊ The Western Team won High Point Team Award at the Midway Show 1 on October 30 and won Reserve High Point Award and the Midway Show 2 on October 30.

◊ The Saddle Seat Team won Reserve High Point Team Award at the University of Louisville Show on February 19.

◊ The Hunt Seat Team won Reserve High Point Team Award at the Midway Show on November 13.

◊ The Western Team won High Point Team Award at the University of Cincinnati Show 1 on November 21 and won Reserve High Point Team Award and the University of Cincinnati Show 2 on November 21.
