Computer Information Systems Overview
The CIS program at the University of Louisville is producing the systems analysts and web architects responsible for the web-based information systems fueling the digital economy.
Examine any successful organization today: the power behind its growth is centered on its ability to create, manipulate and communicate web-based information. CIS graduates possess the information systems knowledge and technical skills to contribute immediately to these organizations.
Jobs being outsourced? NOT!
In a recent survey of 1,400 chief information officers CIOs)
at major corporations, 94 PERCENT said they did NOT outsource their company's
work abroad.
Among those that previously did outsource work to India and China,
59% said management and coordination challenges made the process so difficult
the jobs were returned to the United
States. Cost savings and quality control
were additional factors.
That's great news for business students with a strong
background in CIS. They will find their skills and expertise in demand when
they graduate, and more opportunities within their field for rapid
advancement.
