Business Week rankings have just been released. Overall we are ranked
#115, and come in #61 among public universities. There are well over 1250
undergraduate business programs in the US. On the dimension of academic
quality we are ranked #85. Our average SAT score is 1164 and our teaching

UofL team wins first place twice in a row at UC Spirit of Enterprise Graduate Business Plan Competition |

For the
second year in a row, a UofL College of Business team won first place at the UC
Spirit of Enterprise Graduate Business Plan Competition. The team, Kentucky
Chia, took home the $10,000 Champion Award and an automatic bid to the 2012
Venture Labs Investment Competition in Austin, TX, otherwise known as the ‘Super

Business Week just released its 2011 rankings of the Top Part-Time MBA Programs (a total of 76 schools made this year's rankings.)
The College of Business at the U of L is ranked #35 overall, and #16 among public universities. We are the #7 ranked school in the South (#5 among public universities). This ranking places us solidly as the leading part-time MBA program in the region. (11/11)

The latest rankings from The Princeton Review places the UofL College of Business among the Top 10 “Best Administered” in the nation. As complied from comparative research and a survey of more than 19,000 students at 294 business schools, The Princeton Review ranked the UofL College of Business #4 in the nation, one place behind Harvard University and ahead of the University of Michigan, Northwestern, Rice and Colorado State, among others.

2012 US News undergraduate business rankings puts the College of Business in the top 7% of business schools in the U.S. |

The 2012 undergraduate US News undergraduate business rankings were released today. Once again we have good news to report. Our overall ranking improved from #88 last year to #81 this year. This places us among the top 7% of business schools in the U.S. We are ranked #48 among public universities. (9/11)

Bloomberg Businessweek named UofL the top-ranked undergraduate business school in Kentucky, posting the state’s highest Academic Quality ranking, best student/faculty ratio, highest SAT and ACT scores, and higher teaching quality scores than any other school. In tabulating its scores, BusinessWeek includes nine measures of student satisfaction, post graduation outcomes and academic quality. Nationally, out of approximately 1,500 U.S. business schools, UofL ranked #111 overall and #58 among public universities. (3/11)

Construction for the College of Business - $3.38 million addition |

In January 2011, the College of Business broke ground on a new 7200 sq. ft. wing that will house its signature programs—The Forcht Center for Entrepreneurship and Equine Industry Program. Designed to be LEED certified, the $3.38 million addition will include a green roof and sky garden.

| 2010 rankings by U.S. News & World Report magazine place the College of Business graduate programs among the nation's finest entrepreneurship and part-time MBAs. Of more than 1000 part-time programs around the country, 203 were ranked in the report. The College of Business Professional MBA ranked #28 among public universities and #58 overall, tied with schools including the University of Connecticut, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Utah and Vanderbilt. The college's Entrepreneurship MBA also received high marks, ranking #12 among public universities and #31 overall. |

In its 2008 survey, BusinessWeek named the college one of the Top 50 undergraduate business programs in the U.S. The magazine ranked the college #11 among public universities in the south, #16 among all universities in the south and #49 among all public universities in the U.S. Out of 1200 programs nationwide, the college ranked in the top 7 percent.

In 2010, for the third time in five years, students in the college’s Computer Information Systems (CIS) program took first place in the Southeast Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition. The team finished second in national competition.

At the college’s 2010 Awards Day, 154 students received scholarships and awards valued at more than $300,000 as contributed by more than 200 organizations and individuals.

In partnership with Jefferson Audio-Video Systems (JAVS), the college created Sales Labs and a Communications Lab to assist students in preparation for sales competitions and other skill-building exercises. The Labs can capture and transmit meetings and other events in real time, with playback on demand, including from remote locations.

Teams of graduate and undergraduate entrepreneurship students swept top awards at the 2010 Idea State U new business concept competition, winning more than $60,000 in prize awards, including the competition’s highest honor, the Governor’s Innovation Award.

In a unique partnership with Texas Roadhouse restaurants, the college unveiled the Texas Roadhouse Student Center in 2010. Located in the college’s atrium level, the Center offers comfortable places to meet, study and relax in a setting modeled after the company’s distinctive restaurants. The Center also includes a conference room and business center.

The college launched UofL Business Solutions in 2010, a one-stop service to provide assistance and easy access to the college’s expertise and resources to corporate and non-profit organizations. Services include MBA consulting, internships and co-ops, mentor programs, family business programs, IT consulting, focus group coordination and use of College of Business facilities for special events.

Seniors in the finance program’s Capstone class won the $50,000 Sterne Agee Investment Challenge, besting leading schools in the southeast and earning additional funds for student scholarships.

The college expanded international study opportunities in 2010 with new grants and scholarships for students and the establishment of relationships with 17 leading universities across Europe and Asia.
