A leading national publication again has ranked the University of Louisville College of Business among the best programs in the United States.
In its 2010 edition of “America’s Best Colleges,” U.S. News & World Report awarded the College of Business undergraduate entrepreneurship program its highest ranking ever--#15 in the nation and #9 among public universities.
Overall, the College of Business was ranked in the Top 50 business schools among public, state universities, placing it in the top 7 percent of all U.S. business schools. No other colleges in the Kentuckiana region were included in the rankings.
The entrepreneurship Top 15 ranking placed the college among elite programs including those at Babson, USC, MIT, Syracuse, UCal-Berkeley, IU-Bloomington and UNC-Chapel Hill. The UofL program is part of the college’s new Forcht Center for Entrepreneurship, which includes a minor in entrepreneurship and a nationally ranked Top-25 Entrepreneurship MBA.
“These rankings reflect our growing reputation among deans and other leading educators,” said College of Business Dean Charlie Moyer. “They’re a tribute to the faculty, students, alumni and supporters whose efforts continue to help us expand our role in the region’s economic development.”
Moyer said students’ extraordinary performance in recent national and international business plan competitions such as Global Moot Corp and the Walmart Better Living Business Challenge illustrates the quality and value of the college’s program, as well as raises its profile.
“The program is a transformational experience,” he said. “It gives students the skills, opportunities and confidence to pursue their boldest career goals.”
Regionally, the college’s overall undergraduate programs were ranked ahead of the University of Cincinnati, Ohio University, Xavier, the University of Dayton, Ball State, Butler and Kent State.
