With all eyes equine focused on Louisville, Kentucky Derby Week 2009 provided the College of Business exceptional opportunities to promote the accomplishments of the Equine Industry Program.
On Tuesday, EIP Director Rich Wilcke appeared in a “Fox41 in the Morning” interview with anchor Barry Bernson on the Churchill Downs backside.
On Wednesday morning, Wilcke was again in the midst of horse owners, trainers, jockeys and visiting celebrities for an extended discussion on WKRD-790 radio (listen to broadcast) with talk show host Drew Deener.
UofL President James Ramsey and Wilcke discussed the EIP together Thursday morning in a trackside interview on 84WHAS radio, and Executive in Residence Tim Capps joined Wilcke for an hour-long interview and call-in session on WFPL’s award-winning “State of Affairs” program (listen to broadcast) that afternoon from the sixth-floor pressbox overlooking the finish line.
Derby Week guests learned the unique benefits of the AACSB-accredited equine business degree even as they were coming and going from the region. New promotional signage in Louisville and Lexington airports highlights the UofL equine program in gate and baggage areas.
