Skaggs 1-0 as Cardinal hurler Print

IMBA student Todd Skaggs brought home a win for the UofL baseball team in his first appearance with the squad.

Throwing out the ceremonial first pitch marking April 6 as MBA Day at Jim Patterson Stadium, Skaggs kicked off the game with a strike to catcher Derrick Alfonso.

Pitcher Dean Kiekhefer and trio of Cardinal relievers took things from there, nailing down an impressive 10-3 win over #22-ranked Big East rival St. John’s Red Storm.
The Cards broke the game open with four runs in both the seventh and eight innings.
“It was a wonderful experience to add to my IMBA scrapbook,” said Skaggs, who also is facilities manager for Linens N Things. “And I got away with only one goofy photo being taken.”
