     I decided to jump on a great opportunity outside of the IT industry, and my CIS degree has proven to be invaluable! Thanks to the business content within the overall curriculum, I was able to quickly grasp our core business. However, it is the technical skills I learned that have set me apart from my colleagues. I am not programming in Java or C#, however I am writing SQL triggers and Office macros to automate standard and tedious office functions. Those small tasks have made a huge difference within the office, and they certainly do not go unnoticed! I use the principles, methodologies, and software that I learned as an undergraduate in UofL's CIS program everyday!
