IT Audit Consultant - Internal Audit Consulting Group

     Since graduation, I have been working at Humana in the Internal Audit department.  My area is charged with providing IT guidance and risk assessment for the business.  I am responsible for evaluating logical security and SOX compliance across multiple IT platforms, as well as recommending process and control improvements for major corporate initiatives. I have always felt very prepared for my role because of the well-rounded foundation I received through the CIS program.  My ability to analyze critical success factors and recognize sound business processes comes from CIS.  I also discovered a passion for information security and problem solving through my coursework there. I walked away with lifelong friendships.  My CIS support system and current position at Humana encourage my continued professional development, enabling me to earn additional IT certifications, begin an M.B.A. program, and serve as a board member for the KY chapter of ISACA.   I am so proud to have CIS roots!  I welcome current and future career challenges because I have learned to speak the language of both technology and business professionals.  I can translate between the two groups effectively in any business environment and offer a unique blended perspective.  That skill set will never become obsolete.
