The Center for Graduate and Executive Education
University of Louisville College of Business
Program highlights
The following graduate programs, their faculty and administrative staffs will relocate to the new Center.
The Professional MBA
The Professional MBA is a new addition to the college’s graduate program offerings. Introduced in the fall ’07, it is a full-time MBA experience in a part-time format designed to produce the next generation of business leadership with global perspectives. An intense two-year, cohort-based program, the Professional MBA replaced the college’s traditional MBA. It is available in evening or Saturday-only formats and includes professional development courses, an international study component and hands-on corporate project experience. The program includes a no-increase tuition guarantee for students who complete the program in two years. Currently there are approximately 100 students enrolled in the Professional MBA and more than 150 completing their degree requirements in the traditional MBA program.
IMBA
IMBA is the MBA for Entrepreneurial Thinking. The UofL program was ranked in the top 10 in the U.S. by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneurship magazine in 2007 and has enjoyed national and international recognition almost since its inception. The rigorous, two-year, cohort-based program is for professionals interested in leading, creating and growing businesses within their corporate environments as well as developing entirely new business operations. IMBA offers team teaching by faculty with experience at the highest levels and serial entrepreneurial success, networking opportunities with local, national and international business leaders and real-world new venture creation and business plan competition in the UofL New Venture Competition and Moot Corp, the “Super Bowl” of business plan competitions. Currently there are 56 students in the IMBA program.
Master of Accountancy
The Master of Accountancy (MAC) prepares students to pass the CPA exam and begin careers as certified public accountants. Primarily an evening program for part-time or full-time students, the MAC is available in two formats: a traditional program for students with a four-year degree in accounting and the B-MAC, designed for non-accounting business majors. Currently there are 43 students in the program.
Executive Education
Space will be available for companies to conduct their own 'in-house' training programs and meetings, and the college will produce custom programs to meet corporate needs. Open enrollment programs also will be available to the broader business community.
