MBA PROGRAM ALUMNI
Bruce Vance (IMBA alumni 2006)
Choosing - and committing 100% - to the IMBA program is the best thing I have done for myself, from a professional standpoint. Working through a challenging program with dedicated faculty members and bright, motivated students showed me what I was capable of - in terms of learning new skills, time management, and not being content with "good enough." Most importantly, IMBA taught me to recognize, evaluate, and capitalize on opportunities. That's something I will ALWAYS be able to put to good use!
Steve Herron (IMBA class of 2007)
The University of Louisville MBA Programs are tops locally and are very competitive both on a regional and national level. I'll go on record as saying IMBA is competitive with the "exclusive" MBA programs across the globe. If you don't believe me, check our track record for yourself. Trust me, it speaks for itself.
The Business Plan Competition Teams are highly competitive and consistently beat out prestigious schools in head-to-head competition. Not to mention, our Entrepreneurship Program prepares its students not only to lead in the corporate environment, but also the level of rigor presented in this forum prepares its students to go out and lead entrepreneurial activity. I say this from experience as I am a current founder of a company that got its start in IMBA, now my company is poised to enter and effectively compete in the global marketplace.
The University of Louisville continues to raise the bar. The School of Business continues to attract better faculty, a stronger administration and brighter students to fulfill its commitment of delivering an outstanding education.
As an incoming student, I knew I had leadership qualities that would carry me far in my future endeavors, however, I remain grateful to the University of Louisville's IMBA Program for helping me unleash my potential.
Sara Houlette (IMBA class of 2007)
The professors repeat this mantra throughout the program, but having graduated I can truly say I believe it. The University of Louisville has a top-notch entrepreneurial MBA program that I would put up against any top-tiered business school in the world.
The friends and contacts I made in the University of Louisville's IMBA program are priceless. I know I can count on them to assist me professionally and personally in the years to come.
My undergraduate degree is in Biology, which scared me going into a MBA program. However, the IMBA program has mastered the art of teaching key business foundations and skills that help you to succeed, regardless of your background.
You can ask me if the IMBA program was demanding, stressful or time-consuming and I would honestly answer yes to all of the above, there were times I wanted to give up. But then ask me if it was worth it, and I would answer with an exuberant definitely! Getting my MBA from the University of Louisville was the best professional and educational decision I have ever made.
The University of Louisville MBA programs offer a great return on investment. A top-notch education for a great price!
Linda Grady (MBA class of 2006)
The Louisville MBA experience was very satisfying for me. I worked
full-time as a software analyst throughout my MBA, and found that the
course work really strengthened my analytical skills. Having completed
the MBA has also made me even more credible and respected with my
clients, many of whom are from Fortune-500 companies. The real-world
experience of the professors and the students was invaluable.
Rick Mazzoli (MBA class of 2005)
The knowledge I acquired from my Louisville MBA has been critical in my law practice. Whether organizing small businesses, helping established companies expand their business, counseling individuals on various life decisions, or litigating their claims, an attorney today has to have foundational business skills to effectively represent the client. The
Louisville MBA provided me that necessary foundation. You can’t practice business without knowing the law and you can’t practice law without knowing business.
Bluntly, although I don’t use all the knowledge I gained in law school everyday, hardly a day goes by that I don’t use something from my Louisville MBA in my law practice.
Although the faculty is highly accomplished, I particularly enjoyed classes by professors who had transitioned recently from leadership positions in the "real" business world to the academic world. Louisville’s commitment to attract instructors who have "really done it" - and successfully – cannot be under appreciated.
As an older non-traditional student (having retired from the military after 22 years of service before returning to school), I appreciate the no nonsense approach of the Louisville MBA. Moreover, I appreciate that the University values the non-traditional student.
I chose the Louisville MBA over other programs because Louisville schedules classes for working professionals around work and family. Finally, the Louisville MBA is a great value.
