Please join us in welcoming Courtney Hisey to the College of Business and the Ulmer Career Management Center.

The former recruiter/employment coordinator for open positions at the Swift & Company plant in Louisville is a new Career Counselor in theUlmer Center.

"I know what employers are looking for in interviews and resumes, so I think I can bring students a valuable outside perspective whether it's a full-time position or an internship they're looking for,"she said.

Hisey graduated from the College of Business and Public Administration with a Masters's of Public Administration in 2003. She worked as a graduate research assistant in the CBPA from 2001-2002 and as human resource intern at Brown-Forman Corp. during the summer of 2002.

Immediately prior to joining U of L, at Swift she had responsibility for college relations and other HR duties, including serving as liaison for job applicants from the University of Kentucky, Purdue University and Ohio State University.

"Both of my parents work at U of L, so I kind of grew up here. It's been one of my dreams to come back," she said. Her measure of success at her new position, she said, will be the comments of students who successfully landed jobs with her assistance. (Her father, Gerald Sklare , is a professor in the School of Education; her mother, Libby Leggett , is director of graduate school admissions.)

Hisey is in Room #80 in the Ulmer Center. Her phone number is 852-6967.
