Accountancy

Accountancy is the professional practice of accounting. Often referred to as the “language of business,” accounting deals with the accumulation, analysis, interpretation, and communication of information about an organization’s operations and finances. That information forms the basis for decisions that help companies and other organizations succeed.

Using information systems, accountants measure, record, and summarize economic events. The data generated by these systems are used by people who manage, finance, or benefit from companies and other organizations.

Accounting Certificate Program update!

Effective fall 2011, the Accounting Certificate Program will include new services from the Ulmer

Career Management Center and the College of Business.  Tuition and fees for the program will total $12,900.  Current students in the program will not be impacted by the tuition adjustment but will enjoy access to the expanded services.

The Certificate Program is a great option for students who have an undergraduate degree in another area but want to enter the accountancy profession.  It also provides the academic credentials needed to enter the Master of Accountancy program (MAC).
