About the Ulmer Career Management Center

""

Students and alumni of the College of Business now have more career counseling opportunities, thanks to the Ulmer Career Management Center.

The Ulmer Center, which was dedicated on February 20, 2006, has increased the services and resources available to prepare students for successful career planning and job searches. The center offers co-ops and internships, resume and interview preparation workshops, one-on-one career counseling sessions with advisors, job placement services, and more.

The Ulmer Center was made possible by donations from several individuals, including $300,000 from Dan Ulmer (’55), chairman of the Louisville Bats and co-owner of several other companies, and his wife, Helen (’55), and $100,000 from James A. Patterson (’55B), president of the financial advising firm Pattco, Inc., and founder of Long John Silver’s.

The Ulmer Center is focused on success. For students, success means helping you jump-start your career. Whether you’re interested in accounting, marketing, or another career path in business, the Ulmer Career Management Center helps you with your career planning and job search. The Ulmer Center links students to co-op/internship and full-time positions in Louisville, the surrounding region and internationally.

The Ulmer Career Management Center has on staff two full-time career consultants, who meet with students to discuss career options.  The Center wants to help students who are getting ready to graduate to develop a plan for their job search. But it doesn’t start just before graduation. The staff at the Ulmer Center will speak with students as early as their freshman year.
