Marketing Overview

     Marketing is the revenue-generating part of an organization. To successfully market goods and services, an organization must antcipate and meet consumers' needs in a manner that achieves organizational goals.

     According to Peter Drucker, internationally acclaimed author and educator, "The purpose of business is to create a customer." Marketing drives the processes that conceive and develop products and services to meet consumers' needs. It creates the promotion, pricing, and distribution that produces customer satisfaction.

Mission & Vision

     The purpose of the Department of Marketing is to be an intellectual force that benefits our constituents in the local, regional, national, and global community through our creative and entrepreneurial teaching, research, and service activities. Our constituents include: students, employers, alumni, the university community, public and private sector organizations, and professional and academic marketing groups.
