ECONOMICS DEGREES

Students studying economics have flexibility in course selection for their major or minor once prerequisites are completed. Students are encouraged to discuss their specific interests in economics and career plans with both department faculty and College advising and career planning staff.


Bachelor of Science with Major in Economics

The Bachelor of Science in Economics is a concentrated program in economics. Its unique feature is that students work with a faculty member from the Department of Economics to select an individualized program geared toward their career goals.  Those desiring more of a business background may elect to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.  Please refer to the UofL Undergraduate Catalog for the most up-to-date curriculum for the Bachelor of Science in Economics.


Bachelor of Arts in Economics

Students wishing a more liberal arts background can earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. This allows students considerable flexibility in selecting an educational background suitable for their career aspirations. Minor in Economics

Get an Edge with the Economics MinorThe Economics Department offers a minor that is an excellent program suitable for any business-related or non-business majors.  It provides the academic foundations for all business disciplines as well as helping students develop critical thinking skills.
