Economics Faculty
There are currently twelve full-time economists and adjunct faculty in the department. The President of the University of Louisville is an economist with his tenure in the Department of Economics. All professors hold Ph.D.s, earning their degrees from top research universities in Alabama, California, Illinois, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia and Russia. The faculty is diverse, with members hailing from China, India, Russia, and Sweden as well as the United States.
Economics Faculty are engaged in a wide range of theoretical and applied research. All regularly publish their research in academic journals and practitioner outlets, and are active as consultants, board members, and community volunteers.
Staff
Charlotte Ford
The Department of Economic Administrative Assistant, Mrs. Charlotte Ford, has an office in the College of Business first floor office suite. She will help answer student questions and direct them to other College and University resources. She is also the Administrative Assistant for the Marketing Department and shares first floor office management with the Equine Business program.
Wendell Wiliams
Mr. Wendell Williams is the undergraduate student advisor for economics. His office is located in the Reinhardt Advising Center in the atrium level of the College of Busines. He is able to help all students with program and degree requirements as well as recommend further resources of importance for student planning.

Research conducted by College of Business Professor of Economics Paul Coomes and UofL Center for Infrastructure Research Director Thomas Rockaway is helping water utilities nationwide plan and budget for the challenges of a future with declining residential water usage. Kentucky Economic Association Annual Conference 2010 - Our students, Sarah Ehresman and Chris Heiniger, won the Best Paper prize for undergraduates, with "The Economic Value of Urban Parks and Open Space". There were six undergraduate papers in two sessions, and two of the papers were from University of Kentucky students. They did a great job presenting it, with easily the tightest delivery and best graphics. The student award is sponsored by Cengage. (9/25/2010)
