UofL President Ramsey invited five of our entrepreneurship undergraduate and MBA business plan competition teams to make a brief presentation at the UofL Board of Trustees meeting on May 8.
TheraBracelet MBA team earned $101,000 at the Rice Business Plan Competition in Houston, Texas in addition to numerous other winnings in competitions throughout the Fall 2013 – Spring 2014 competition season. Trifecta Cooking, CypressMD, and PocketPark U each received a first place win and Jockey Analytics a runner-up in the Idea State U competition in Lexington, all receiving cash awards. Dr. Van Clouse was recognized for his role as leader of the Entrepreneurship Program and acknowledged for his time and guidance resulting in the success of the program and team competitions. Dr. Clouse spoke on behalf of the Entrepreneurship MBA program. Matthew Raggard, CEO of TheraBracelet, spoke on behalf of all Entrepreneurship MBA competition teams. Suzanne Bergmeister, Entrepreneurship Executive-in-Residence, spoke on behalf of the Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Minor and Max Ggrdes, CEO of PocketParkU, spoke on behalf of all Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Minor teams.
Other entrepreneurship teams that successfully competed in competitions include Appro Therapeutics, SmartLanes, and Systemica Health.
Dr. Clouse commented that he was very grateful to President Ramsey for this “once in a lifetime opportunity for our students!”
