The first Keg of Nails Sales Competition between students from the University of Cincinnati and the University of Louisville was held on Friday, February 10, 2012. This year’s Keg of Nails will be Friday, February 8, 2013 at the University of Louisville College of Business.
Each student engages in a videotaped, 20-minute role play selling a product to a Prospect Profile from the National Collegiate Sales Competition. Buyers and judges will be sales professionals from the supporting sponsors.
The judges evaluate each student role play on all aspects of the sales process: approach, needs identification, sales presentation, handling objections, the close, and the overall role play. Students receive feedback from a debriefing session with the judges and from their role play score sheets.
